Brief History
During the founder's independent research on issues affecting developing countries, (in particular his home country- Uganda), he learned that the main cause of poverty is lack of information on developing issues, lack of capital and lack of skills/training in business. After his research, he developed a program and established G.I.C.GU to address these problems, with the help of few friend who had same interests and had previously worked or work with Non-governmental organisations and community based groups.
Because great ideas need resources to grow into reality, at Gicug.com we help local people acquire acurate and reliable information they need to make their dreams a reality and to empower young people with self reliance skills that can provide them with an opportunity to earn a dignifed living, raise healthy families and also be able to participate in democratic life. These skills include; computer literacy training and writing skills (in particular; teach them how to write; a cover letter, a project proposal, Curriculum vitae, a recommendation letter, a structured essay, an inquiry letter, a constitution and how to do their best in an interview, how to prepare their trip abroad and how to develop self confindance. etc). We work in a small team which we believe promotes creativity and speed.
